the view from here: hamilton from the archives (2013)

This collection is based on historic images of the City of Hamilton, Ontario, found at Hamilton Public Library Archives. It depicts the changing city from the 1800s to the 1950s. The images are painted on 100 year old windows from a home in Hamilton.

still standing: Detroit, michigan (2010)

Between 2009 and 2010 I made three site visits to the City of Detroit, Michigan. The paintings are a result of these site visits, and depict the abandonment of Detroit after the housing crash of 2008.  The series is a loving tribute to a beautiful city, still standing despite major upheaval and change.
