I chose this image of Yonge street from the Archives because it reminded me most of the Toronto of my youth. The photograph was taken at some point between 1978 and 1983, and I thought of it as sort of the younger sibling of “Yonge and Dundas, 1978”. Unlike that image, however, this photograph was taken at street-level, and offers an on-the-ground look of the same neighbourhood, just a half a block away from bustling intersection of Yonge and Dundas.
