Yonge and Dundas, 1978

Acrylic on Wood, 30” x 60”    « Back | Next »

This painting was certainly the most time-consuming one of the entire collection, taking over 600 hours to complete. When choosing the image, what drew me to this one was what ultimately made it so challenging: the dozens of real people going about their day in the spring of 1978.  I wanted to represent their role in the history of Yonge and Dundas, together shaping the feeling and atmosphere of a place in time, but each also with their own unique story to tell.

This work will be exhibited at my upcoming show at Urban Gallery in Toronto! The original painting, as well as a selection of signed and numbered prints will be available for sale. You can also buy a print right now by clicking the button below.
